About Us - Our History - Our Philosophy

The Hartland gymnastics program was started in 1975 by Steve Assenmacher. We are unique in that we operate through Community Education. We offer Parent-tot, pre-school, junior, recreation, high school, boys and girls USAG levels and cheerleading classes.

We take pride in the fact we were the 1st gymnasts program in the area and most all of the programs inthe area are outgrowths of our program in one way or another.

We also take pride in our family oriented atmosphere. Our gymnasts are #1 and our coaches are attentive, encouraging and strive to promote self-esteem and life skills.

"The importand thing in the Olympic Games, is not to win, but to take part; the important thing in life, is not the trimuph, but the struggle. The essential thing is not to have conquered, but to have fought well. to spread these concepts is to build up a stronger and more valiant and, above all, more scrupulous and more generous humanity."

-Baron Pierre de Coubertin

This program was started with the belief that there is a place for everyone in gymnastics. We truly believe that gymnastics is a sport different from all others; therefore, it must be approached in a unique and specific way in order to insure success for every athlete. Children need to experience success to bring self-esteem. The only way to do this through a greater commitment of time and effort as they move to higher levels.

We presume that it is important for every gymnast to get as much out of this sport as the possibly can, while at the same time having an incredible positive experience. Through this program, our athletes discover the link between desire, dedication, direction and achievement.

In conclusion we are aware that success has it's own disguise. In time each of your children will find the perfect lead role and costume based on the character they have become, virtually by the "day-to-day" toils and struggles they have encountered along the way.
